一、課程目標Course objectives

This course integrates presentation skills, generative AI, slide design, animation, and multimodal communication in a 16-week project cycle. Each regular class follows a three-hour studio structure: Hour 1 develops presentation content and delivery; Hour 2 uses AI to support research, scripting, and slide production; Hour 3 is an animation and multimodal production lab. Students learn by making, testing, receiving feedback, revising, and presenting. AI is treated as a design partner—not a substitute for evidence, judgment, authorship, or the student’s own voice.

(本課程以專題導向與工作坊方式，整合英語簡報技巧、生成式 AI、投影片設計、動畫與多模態溝通。每次三小時課程原則上分為：第一小時「簡報內容與表達」、第二小時「AI 輔助投影片設計」、第三小時「動畫與多模態製作」。學生透過實作、測試、回饋與修訂，逐步完成期中個人簡報及期末多模態團隊簡報。)

三、授課方式Teaching approach

This course adopts a project-based, hands-on workshop approach that integrates presentation skills, AI-assisted slide creation, visual design, animation, and multimodal communication. Each three-hour session follows a consistent studio structure: the first hour focuses on presentation content and delivery skills, including audience analysis, organization, storytelling, pronunciation, body language, and Q&A; the second hour guides students in using generative AI to brainstorm, research, develop scripts, create slides, and evaluate visual choices; and the third hour provides practical instruction in animation and multimodal production. Through weekly projects, peer review, instructor guidance, and AI-assisted feedback, students continuously test, revise, and improve their work. The course culminates in a multimodal presentation that integrates spoken English, text, images, data, animation, audio, and video while emphasizing responsible AI use, source verification, accessibility, creativity, and students’ authentic voices.
(本課程採用專題導向與實作工作坊的教學方式，整合簡報技巧、AI 輔助投影片製作、視覺設計、動畫製作及多模態溝通。每次三小時的課程皆依循固定的工作坊架構：第一小時著重簡報內容與表達技巧，包括聽眾分析、內容組織、故事敘述、英語發音、肢體語言及問答技巧；第二小時引導學生運用生成式 AI 進行創意發想、資料蒐集、講稿撰寫、投影片生成與視覺設計評析；第三小時則進行動畫與多模態內容製作的實作教學。學生透過每週的專題任務、同儕互評、教師指導及 AI 輔助回饋，持續測試、修訂並改善作品。課程最後將以多模態簡報作為成果展現，整合英語口語、文字、圖像、數據、動畫、音訊與影片，同時重視負責任的 AI 使用、資料來源查證、無障礙設計、創意表達及學生個人真實聲音的保留。)

1.	Midterm Project: 20%
2.	Final Group project: 30%
3.	Tests: 10%
4.	Class attendance, discussion, oral practice: 30%
5.	A reflection journal on a talk about intercultural communication. 10 %

Students are required to watch 2 TED talks on presentation and communication skills. They are required write a reflective journal. This journal will be evaluated for depth of reflection and understanding.

During in-class oral practice sessions, students may practice individually or with partners in designated areas outside the classroom, located within the language center. For certain exercises, the instructor may guide students to alternative locations, such as the university history exhibit in the library basement, to facilitate authentic practice.
