本課程的主要目的在使學生認識並閱讀英文小說，了解西方文化，並具有欣賞與批判文學作品的能力。透過英文小說閱讀，學生不但能提升英語能力，更能培養更加寬廣的世界觀。

The course aims to introduce English fictions to students, make them understand more about Western cultures, and improve their abilities on appreciating and analyzing literary works. Through reading and discussion, students may enhance their general English abilities and broaden their views of the world.
