一、課程目標Course objectives
此門課以中文授課。 線性代數是每一個現代 AI 系統底層運作的無聲引擎,它是書寫 AI 的語言。一位深刻理解向量、矩陣變換、特徵值與奇異值分解的學生,不僅僅擁有數學上的準備,他們擁有的是得以閱讀、設計並深入思考那些正在重塑世界之系統的概念語彙。 Linear algebra is the silent engine beneath every modern AI system. It is the language in which AI is written. A student who deeply understands vectors, matrix transformations, eigenvalues, and the SVD does not just have mathematical preparation, they have the conceptual vocabulary to read, design, and reason about the systems reshaping the world. 1. Students will explain the core objects of linear algebra — vectors, matrices, subspaces, and linear maps using precise mathematical language and correct geometric intuition. 2. Students will execute the fundamental algorithms (Gaussian elimination, LU/QR/SVD decompositions, Gram-Schmidt) correctly by hand and interpret each step mechanically and geometrically. 3. Students will determine the structure of solution sets for Ax = b by computing rank, identifying pivot and free variables, and characterizing the four fundamental subspaces of any matrix. 4. Students will compute eigenvalues, eigenvectors, and singular values, and use these to diagonalize or decompose matrices in forms suited to the problem at hand. 5. Students will analyze real-world problems including least-squares regression, principal component analysis, Markov chains, and network models by formulating them as linear algebra problems and interpreting their solutions.
