一、課程目標Course objectives
主要介紹現代材料光電相關科技產業基礎的近代物理里程碑實驗與理論—量子力學,其應用已經從傳統半導體產業進一步延伸到最新的奈米科技。課程強調發現光與電子的量子效應的重要物理實驗以及引發的量子理論,來幫助學生對光與電子的行為建立有別於傳統古典電動力學與電磁學的觀點的新量子物理繪景下的觀念,另外會適時地引入最新光電奈米相關科技的進展。所以本課是做為量子力學導論、固態物理學雷與光電子學等的預備課程,啟發學生未來從事光電器件研發的興趣。書面報告是指定學生從雜誌或網路選擇感興趣的最新材料或光電的研究成果報導,研讀後深入討論其中的物理機制,寫下心得感想。 The goal of the present course addresses on introducing the content of the mile-stone experiments in modern physics, and the concept of the quantum mechanism, the fundamental theory of the modern optic and electric technologies, which has been applied through the conventional semi-conductor industry into the up-to-date nano-technology. The present class will highlights the impact of the important experimental works which illuminates the quantum effects of light and electrons, and the establishment of the theory triggered by those experiments. Such can help students to figure out the behaviors of the light and the electron by the concept in the picture of quantum mechanics, in contrast to the view of the classical electrodynamics and electromagnetism. Besides, the progressive status of current optoelectronic and nano technologies will also be introduced by chance. Then this course can be considered as the preliminary of the courses: “Introduction of Quantum Mechanism”, “Solid State Physics”, and “Optoelectronics”…, etc. to inspire students to dedicate in the research and develop on the optic and electronic devices for the carrier. The term-report majors as in the term report. Students can study any article relate to the nowadays optoelectric devices and the associated materials published on the magazine or web site. Under the guidance of the teacher in the individual discussion, students have to understand the physics mechanism of the features reported in the article and express the concept by their own languages in the term report.
